The Phantom of the Opera
Development Period: July 2014 - Ongoing
Status: Current Development
This is a bluffing and deduction game for 2-3 players. Players compete to see who wins the affections of Christine. The Phantom has many tricks up his sleeve, but using too many of them will drive Christine away. Raoul is more traditional, but less interesting and mysterious than Erik/Phantom.
The game consists of:
Each player then draws a hand of 3 cards from their Responses Deck. The top card from the Events Deck is drawn and turned over so all players can see it.
Each player’s cards have various strengths and abilities, some will have properties that may or may not help in the Event at hand. Each card will have a base rating of 1-4, but that rating may be adjusted according to the current Event.
Resolve the text on both the Event card and any played Response cards to determine the round’s winner. The winner(s) of each round get Tokens of Affection.
Each player then draws another card from their response deck so they again have a hand of 3 cards. Another Event card is drawn and the next round begins.
At the end of the game the player with the most Tokens of Affection has won Christine’s heart (or she can leave them both to enjoy a career in the opera).
