Extra Life - Support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

The 2020 Charity Auction & Fundraiser Event Details!

We're currently looking for sponsors for our 2020 Charity Auction for Extra Life!  With COVID-19 we are not sure if we'll be able to hold our 24 Hour Gaming Marathon, however we'll still be having our Charity Auction!  Hopefully the Charity Auction will be big enough this year to make up the difference from not having the live events.

Join the 2020 Charity Auction for Extra Life here!  https://www.facebook.com/events/315353449650399/

If you're an industry professional (publisher, designer, media, etc.), local business, or would just like to help out by donating games, promo items, accessories, swag, or anything else gaming related, please get in touch with George JarosYou can learn more about sponsoring the event here.

2020 Sponsors!

Sponsorships are starting to roll in for our 2020 event and it's shaping up to be our biggest year yet!  We've already seen some incredible generosity from members of the board game community.  So far this is what we have donated for our 2020 Extra Life Fundraiser events:
TBR means donations haven't been received yet.

Each November, GJJ Games runs a 24 Hour Game Marathon as well as a week long Charity Auction at The Gaming Goose in DeKalb. These events support the Extra Life organization's efforts to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.  Our event specifically supports Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.  Please come out to support this wonderful charity event and to play some great games!

If you cannot attend, please consider donating to this great cause at https://www.extra-life.org/participant/GJJGames

Publishers & Industry Professionals: If you'd like to donate games, promos, swag, or anything else for our Charity Auction or Raffle, please contact George Jaros at George@Jaros.com

2020 Event Information

From: Friday, November 6th - 7pm
To: Saturday, November 7th - 7pm
Where: ONLINE

Cost: The event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested. Of course, feel free to donate more, too. 100% of funds raised go straight to supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!

Events:
GJJ Games will be live streaming 24 hours of gaming! I'll be gaming with my family, solo, showing off some games, and maybe even some virtual gaming with my audience! I'm still working out details of how this will work, but I plan on gaming on my own at home for 24 hours to raise funds for Extra Life since we can't hold our usual 24 hour event in-store.

A huge Thank You to Chris from The Charity Boardgamer for a bunch of tips and help with figuring out how to best livestream this event.

Charity Auction Details:

The annual charity auction is a great way to find a new home for some of your old games while also earning some store credit for some new games and helping out a great cause!  You may bring in your old games to the Gaming Goose in DeKalb or Elgin for two weeks before the event.  After the auction is over those that donated games will receive the full sale price in store credit. At least 20% of the sale price will go to Extra Life and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!

But the auction isn't just for used games.  A number of awesome sponsors donate games every year to support this cause!  You'll be able to bid on some amazing titles from some amazing publishers and every penny from those sales goes straight to charity!

We'll have hundreds of games donated by both local gamers and board game community insiders (publishers, media creators, vendors, and more)!  So get ready to clear out your shelves and restock them with some great new titles and some great deals, all while helping out sick kids in need!

The auction will run for one week, starting at 7pm, Friday, November 6 and ending at 11:59pm, Friday, November 13. Times are Central.

If you are providing games, please bring them to The Gaming Goose in DeKalb or Elgin no later than Monday, 11/2. Please use this form if you are submitting games: http://georgejaros.com/files/2020-Charity-Auction-Form.pdf

After the auction is over those that donated games will receive the full sale price in store credit. At least 20% of the sale price will go to Extra Life (the rest covers the cost of the store credit). If you would prefer that 100% of your earnings on a game go to the charity you can do that and not receive the store credit.

Winners of the auction items will be contacted by The Gaming Goose to coordinate payment (PayPal, credit, or cash) as well as pickup or delivery. Games may be shipped for actual shipping fees or picked up from The Gaming Goose in DeKalb or Elgin. Other arrangements may be possible as well.
