Maztec will be launched on Kickstarter on June 2nd.

New game from the creators of Maztec Duel (best Roll 'n Write Game 2020 on BGG Contest), by Vincent Frammery.

“Explore a mysterious temple in this 1-4 player jigsaw puzzle board game of gemstones collecting and matching with clues in a timed challenge.”

Vincent Frammery and the Fresh Creative Games team are coming to Kickstarter to raise funds for their new game, Maztec. Game lovers familiar with jigsaw puzzle and polyomino mechanics will feel at home in Maztec.But it's a real modern board game!

Maztec include a new mechanism that combines:

- a lap counter and the discovery of clues by reconstructing the perimeter of the puzzle

- the management of pieces(gems and symbols) to be selected on a market

- the combination of pieces concerning his playing area and his opponent's area

Objective: to place the gems in the right places in the temple or to associate his gems with the gems of his opponents. A good archaeologist always knows where everything should be.

Maztec will be launched on June 2 on Kickstarter with full art and design.

The Kickstarter campaign will feature the game at $49. The game will include 1 exclusive add-on during the kickstarter campaign: Maztec - the powers of gems

About the game:

“That night, the earth shook. The ruins of an unknown civilization appeared but the earth's crust continued to tear apart, causing natural disasters all over the planet. Strange seismic impulses seemed to come from a temple within these unexplored ruins.”

In Maztec, you play as an archaeologist who has to restore the ruins of a mysterious temple that causes earthquakes. The game lasts 28 rounds, and a set of numbered jigsaw pieces works as a timer. You first put together the entrance of the temple, and, at the beginning of each round, place one of the numbered pieces face up to construct the walls: this will reveal a new symbol and signal the passage of time. Temple stones are shaped like jigsaw pieces too, showing either a green or a red gem surrounded by ancient symbols. During set up, you reveal two gem pieces face up.

Right now jigsaw puzzles are making a comeback. Maztec gives jigsaw puzzles a modern spark. Maztec is a revolution in the playful sphere itself. It is the missing link between the world of jigsaw puzzles and the modern board game. A new way to create puzzles in a fun, competitive way.
