A BRIEF HISTORY

America’s oldest seaside resort, Cape May, New Jersey, has been a popular getaway for families from New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. since the late 1700s.

But Cape May was never immune to hardship.

Wracked by devastating fires, extreme beach erosion, swarms of mosquitoes, and intense competition from surrounding areas, the town and its residents struggled their way through the 19th and 20th centuries.

During this turbulent time, players attempt to develop Cape May into the “Queen of the Seaside Resorts.”

Cape May is designed by Eric Mosso, with artwork by Michael Menzel, graphic design by Stephen Kerr, and development by Scott Bogen, Keith Matejka & John Brieger.

Cape May will be Thunderworks Games’ 10th published title behind other successfully funded Kickstarters and direct-to-retail games, including Cartographers Heroes; Roll Player Adventures; Roll Player: Fiends & Familiars; Lockup: A Roll Player Tale; Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale; Dual Powers: Revolution 1917; Roll Player: Monsters & Minions; Roll Player; and Bullfrogs.

When visiting a game page, users can now see both a community and a critic score on a new 100 point scale. For anything helpful, that user can head over to the original review source to watch, read or listen to the whole thing.

When the critic review feature was initially announced the overall response was excited but skeptical. People over and over said it was something desperately needed but that it was going to be hard to pull off. Reviews are seen as objective and too difficult to put a firm number on. Users will see now more than ever that scores have been applied and this content has been organized, this system provides a key guide that is easy to make sense of.

Board Game Atlas has an ambitious future roadmap planned and this marks a key step. Since January the team has been growing and outlining major features to be launched over the coming months.

“In the past two months we have rolled out new systems for publishers, retailers and now critics. This is only the beginning and we are very excited to continue to improve the board game experience for the consumer and everyone else involved.” Said CEO Trent Ellingsen.

The Game: Face to Face

Delayed until June 2!

From Pandasaurus Games:

Global shipping has been under quite a bit of stress for the entirety of 2021. This has affected all types of shipping and created a domino effect of delays across the board.

Our shipment of The Game: Face to Face has been stuck in Montreal for weeks, and just now began showing signs of movement again. We are pushing the release out two weeks from May 19 to a new release date of June 2.

Of course, it's possible that it gets held up somewhere else along the way, in which case we will make another announcement!
